The first ever Chick-fil-A restaurant is closing its doors after 56 years of service.The chicken sandwich shop is situated in Atlanta, Georgia’s Greenbriar Mall. Despite the fact that the store’s Facebook page states that it is already “permanently closed,” local reports from The Atlanta Journal-Constitution claim that the restaurant will serve its final supper on Saturday.According to the publication, there were printed-out posters announcing the restaurant’s closure posted throughout the mall.

It’s unclear why the place is currently closing down. After contacting Chick-fil-A for comment on the situation, CBS News did not receive a response right away.S. Truett Cathy saw success in the industry with his diner, The Dwarf House, which he founded in 1946, and he went on to open the first Chick-fil-A in Greenbriar Mall in 1967.With locations in 47 states, Chick-fil-A went on to become a highly well-known fast-food brand.
