Since “The Last Dance” debuted on Netflix in 2020, Pippen, 57, has been on a mission to defame Jordan because he feels belittled and disrespected. He still criticises his former teammate, and he did it once again when he was a guest on the Gimme the Hot Sauce! podcast.
Pippen declared, “LeBron is the greatest winner. He receives a lot of criticism and is much older today. He has never made shots. Never has he been the one to fire the final shot. He never had much talent for that. I made this statement many years ago and received backlash for it. LeBron James will be the best statistical player to ever play the game when he retires.
By adding the qualifier “statistical” to his response and arguing that basketball cannot have a “greatest” player since it is a team sport, Pippen saves himself from a GOAT debate.
James, 38, is the fourth-leading assist provider of all time, which supports Pippen’s argument. However, he continued by making clear reference to Jordan.
