In light of Elon Musk’s contentious takeover of Twitter, a growing number of celebrities, including Trent Reznor and Jack White, have quit the platform.Due to Elon Musk’s attention-grabbing takeover of Twitter, Trent Reznor has left the social media platform, leading the billionaire to criticise Reznor as a “crybaby.”
This week, 57-year-old Reznor joined an increasing number of famous people in permanently deactivating their accounts. He called Musk’s recent purchase of the website a “embarrassment.”
I’m about to leave,” he said last week to The Hollywood Reporter. “We don’t need the billionaire class’s arrogance to think they can just waltz in and fix everything. I just feel like it’s become such a toxic environment, even without him there. I need to unwind for the sake of my mental health. I no longer use Twitter.
Since acquiring control of the social media platform, Musk, 51, has been under fire for a number of things, most recently for restoring former president Donald Trump’s account after it was suspended for inciting violence over two years ago.
The Tesla CEO tweeted in response to a comment regarding Trump’s reinstatement, “And it turns out that Trent ‘nine inch nails’ Reznor is actually a crybaby.”
Musk responded to someone else calling the rocker “one of the best artists ever” by saying he enjoyed Reznor’s music but that “maybe Etsy is more his type.
