A conservative legal activist and American attorney, Leonard A. Leo was born in 1965. He served as the Federalist Society’s vice president for a significant amount of time, and he currently shares that role with Steven G. Calabresi as co-chairman of the board of directors.

Leo has had a key role in creating a network of powerful conservative organisations, most of which are supported by anonymous contributors. Funding hubs for the network organisations include The 85 Fund and Concord Fund.He led campaigns to promote the nominations of John Roberts, Samuel Alito, Neil Gorsuch, Brett Kavanaugh, and Amy Coney Barrett. He also supported Clarence Thomas during his confirmation hearings for the Supreme Court.

Leo complained to White House officials in 2003 when [George W. Bush] planned to praise racial diversity while criticising the practice of affirmative action. He claimed that the praise for racial diversity would “disgust any conservative who thinks that this is a matter of principle.” According to Leo, who spoke to “The Washington Post,” he “was communicating the widely held conservative idea that racial discrimination is always immoral and inconsistent with the dignity and worth of every individual.
