The movie is a love triangle, between candy and naive college trainer Marion (Emma Corrin within the Nineteen Fifties portion of the plot, the good Gina McKee later on in life);
Her policeman beau and eventual husband, Tom (Harry Types, then Linus Roache); and an erudite and cultured museum curator.
